Our plan is to help as many people as possible along the way. But in order for us to help others, we are asking you to help us first!

See our Donor Appreciation Wall for list of individuals and business that have supported us. As, of August 6, 2011 contributions total $5000. Whether it’s $1 or $1,000, a home-cooked meal or creative fundraiser every offering of generosity supporting the Walk is appreciated and empowers the Making Strides Mission to connect with more people who need a helping a hand, document their stories, and inspire individuals and communities to come together so more can Rediscover the American Dream.

In addition, thanks to our non-profit supporter The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers -a registered 501C3 charity, donations that are ‘mailed in’ are deductible on your taxes.

To get charitable donation receipt your checks from Making Strides need to be mailed directly to our supporting organization. If you send a check with “Making Strides” in memo they will send you a receipt as proof of your charitable donation deductible for tax purposes. Click here for mailing instructions

*at this time we cannot provide tax receipts for online donations, but your online donation is easy to do and available to us immediately for supporting our walk.

We encourage and appreciate material contributions as well. The following is a list of items needed for the walk:

More Way to Help:

There are many ways to help support the walk- here’s an example an artisan who  is donating 1/2 of sales to our walk. You may have a creative fundraising idea or wish to help out in some way, if so please contact us!

Spread the Word

Let your friends and community know about Making Strides, share on your community newspaper, or website/ blog. We’ve created a ‘copy and paste’ article about Making Strides to share, and  you are welcome to link to our blogs or content from our website as well.

If you are connected to a nonprofit, organization, or family that could use our help or work please let us know. Soon we placing our tentative walk route online.

In addition, if you work in publicity or media, or have friends in the media who can help spread the word about the walk locally or nationally this would go along way in helping us reach more people.
